Easy riding out of winter

After a couple of ice related cancellations in early January, we have been braving the cold weather to get out on some easy Sunday rides and pop- up Thursday rides during January and February.

Sunday easy rides have included rides to Treetops, Plumley garden centre, Glebe Farm ( thanks to Phil B for leading that one) and Dunham Barn. We were very pleased to welcome Sean on this ride, now a new club member.

Last Sunday John led an easy paced version of the 33 mile Circuit of the Edge, with a cafe stop in Alderley, whilst I led an even shorter version starting from the Alderley cafe stop. Some of our easy ride regulars formed a group to do the 42 mile route whilst others went for the full value 50 miles.

Thursday morning pop-up extra easy rides have visited the Beeches at Ollerton, Barnshaw Smithy at Mobberley and Sandy Lane tearoom at Whirley.

Sunday easy rides for the next couple of months are on the club calendar, showing start points. The destinations and routes will be added closer to the dates, depending upon weather forecasts.

Thursday extra easy rides will continue to be pop ups over the next month and are added to the calendar on the Tuesday of the same week, if the weather looks good and a ride leader is available.
