Club Run To Hartington
Last Saturdays club run worked out really well.
A little bit of sunshine can mean bigger number’s and so it was not one, not two but three groups with six to nine rider’s in each making it twenty plus in total including a couple of newbies; Tony & Paul 👍👍.
The vid is the sensibly paced self proclaimed “fast enough group”, there was a larger one up the road; “ the wet group”. Last but by no means least was the “laughing group” who were laughing in the cafe at Hartington while it was raining and the first group were getting a right wetting as they climbed up towards the Mermaid, and your correspondent was mending a puncture outside🌧☹️.
Perhaps the fast enough group should have been called “the deviants” as we took the long short cut over Wincle Grange on the way back, initiative is encouraged on the club run 😎.
Maybe the laughing group should have been called “the doubter’s group” as a few of them had expressed fear that the ride was a bit to hard but fair play to them for taking it on and all getting round at a pace that suited and in plenty of time to join the post ride social and refreshments in the Kings Head. The club run is for as wide a selection of member’s as possible.
The next one is on the 8th March for which the ride leader's position is currently vacant as yours truly will be missing in foreign lands so VOLUNTEERS PLEASE. It's not that hard, help and advice for instance with a route is just for the asking. All I had to do was ask everyone to split into groups then keep pushing pedals.
