Sunday Afternoon Charity Ride 29 Sep
The rain came down for the Sunday Afternoon Charity Ride in aid of Heart UK
The weather finally broke in vengeance for our charity afternoon ride
7 set off in the rain, fuelled by a mix of tea, coffee, ham sandwiches and Sue’s fabulous cakes into the hills. Our route had to be modified almost immediately by news of floods on the Leek Old Road, so we headed towards Macclesfield before heading west through Sutton and Algreave. We made it to the top of Burntcliff Top before admitting defeat and retracing our steps then through Wildboarclough and Macclesfield Forest. By then the wind and rain had made the idea of a hot shower too much temptation.
Well done to everyone who took part, Thanks to Simon R for leading, and thanks to everyone who contributed to the charity.
We raised 186.50 for Heart UK
