Steady Training Ride Going Into Autumn & Winter

So only two of us turned up for for the training ride at 6.30 last night despite it being a perfectly good night for it πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ.

TBH neither myself or Mark really needed to do the full circuit just for the sake of it as Mark had done a big ride the day before and I had a hard run up Shineing Tor. Never the less we had a quick blast round the the old Sweetenham loop as hard as we could and fairly hard it was with just two of us trying to keep up to our normal training ride pace but we did it and we were glad we did.

Since number's have been dwindling and myself and a lot of other former regulars can now get out earlier in the day when it's daylight henceforward the ride will be more ad hoc decided week by week on a similar basis to last winter during the restrictions. I will revive the What's App group we used then which worked well enough so that member's that want to get out can do. I'll add all the new rider's who have joined over the last few month's, if I miss anyone or anyone else wants to be added let me know: fred.w@macclesfieldwheelers.org.uk.

The ride report wouldn't be complete without the all important result at Broken X and I think it was one of the better ones 😎: Fred Wardle got a gap on the drag up before Dark Lane but by the final ramps the club's top sprinter Mark Bethell was closing in to contest it, but not quite and it finished FredπŸ₯‡ Mark πŸ₯ˆ. Will we ever see a result like that again ?πŸ˜….
