New Rules @10-2-7
The easier training ride @10-2-7 wont be happening as a chain gang for the duration but riding solo and sensibly within the guidelines there’s still been a few of us out yesterday.
Not quite as many of the 10-2-7 regulars as last week with Andy and Boothy opting for the turbo, but on my shortish ride as I was heading up from Wild Boar Clough towards the Plague Stone (apt😠) it was nice to see Simon followed by Christian a good 2 meters apart (actually about half a mile😀).
Bennett easily did the longest ride and at a average of 17.2 mph was the quickest of the 10-2-7 riders. Mind you I’ve said for a long time Bennett should be promoted to the fast ride and talking of which Steve also did 17.2 mph but not as many miles and Ollie was quickest 17.3 mph, only 11 miles though. Jamie was a bit slower but easily clocked up the most climbing with 3,114 feet in a 21 mile outing. Representing JAR Nigel and Steven did 33 and 30 miles respectively.
Fozzy explored the highways and byways of Poyntonshire clocking up just under 20 miles. The good weather brought 10-2-7 summer riders Griff and Elliot out, Elliot with a short quickish one, more miles and climbing for Griff.
From the 10-2-7 woman’s section Daisy did 10 miles at 15.5mph slightly quicker than Janet at 15.4 mph but since Janet did 35 miles and 1,454 feet of climbing I think we’ll give that one to her🥇. Daisy might protest though that she was saving her legs for a turbo sesh and sorry Ruth and Rachel, neither walking the dog or running in the park before brekkie count.
Overall though ride of the day goes to Ant🏆for his sunset ride, not the fastest, longest or hilly’st but the best photo and most dedicated. Unlike most of us who were able to go out earlier, Ant was the last to finish as he went out for his one a day after putting a shift in for the NHS, dishing out paracetamol, only just putting his feet up when all the clapping started👏👏👏.
Keep pushing pedals everyone, but importantly stay safe, we don’t want Ants colleagues having to put broken cyclists back together.
