A tale of (one or) two chain gangs

It was a good one for chain ganging yesterday evening and plenty were out criss crossing on the Cheshire lanes including Macc Wheeler’s steady and faster versions.

The plan is the steady one is for more senior rider’s who aren't up to the fast one any longer bringing on new rider’s to improve in a group riding for each other and last night was a perfect example. Freeze frame the  video and you should see Bartosz in the fast chainy wizzing through Chelford in the opposite direction. That was his first outing on that ride after doing the Steady Training Ride regularly over last winter and since joining the club and on our ride we had Yasmine join us for her first ever chain gang.

From the off the group worked pretty smoothly together and at a good speed, new rider Yasmine certainly got the idea and slotted in very well. Lot’s of positive’s; good communication, gaps closed up quick with the odd shout to easy on, considerate riding, no wind as such just a slight air flow against us from Byley up to Ollerton. In fact all in all b…..y great, even though  getting back towards Siddington with some tired leg’s it was a bit more ragged, that’s normal and no one was hanging off the back.

Bennet improved his tactics this week to get clear first over the line at BX 🥇 and Fred is claiming joint 2nd / 3rd 😎with Fozzy 🥈🥉. (I was definitely 1st supavet 🤪) That was after a big pull from Mark W, Rich worked as hard as anyone, Dave was in the mix, Simon was there, Vinney reckoned he would have been but he got blocked by a slow car 🤔, Mark B didn’t bother with such an excuse and Yasmine didn’t need one. More importantly  the prestigious  ride of the night award go’s jointly to Yasmine🏆 and Bartosz🏆 for both stepping up ……… will it be you next time ?.
