Leek Cycling Clubs Legbreaker

Three wheelers represented the club in Leek CC’s traditional annual ride.

Mick O’Connor, Andy Jackson and Fred Wardle signed on in market square Leek last sunday morning the 11th for the just over  eighty mile and roughly eight thousand feet of climbing challenge.

There were plenty of ups and downs before the food station  / control; south through Ipstones then noth eastish through Dovedale, climbing out then down into the Manifold valley. We bent our leg’s going up through Grindon😤 and a few minutes later went back down into the valley again for the stop.

After the refuel happily it wasnt another steep climb out as we headed through Hulme End and Sheen to Longnor before climbing up to Flash all on slightly more familiar Roads. Then it was Roach End down to Meerbrook and up the Gun. Another hard push out of Rushton eventually into a bit of a headwind on Lask edge, through Endon then Cheddleton to the sign off in Leeks CC’s HQ the Den Engel pub…… they've definitely got a plus on Macc Wheelers there 🍻😀
