Wed Club Run to Chapel
A group of five: Steve, Chris, Dave, Mike and Raph set off from South Park at the new time of 10.00 and after being joined by Pete in Bollington we took advantage of some late summer sunshine to continue our tour of the western peak (about 60 miles and 6500 ft). While not quite on the scale of the Starship Enterprise we continued our mission to explore the roads less travelled, escape the thundering traffic of the trunk roads and to boldly go up, down and along quite a few quiet country lanes . The superb views offering some compensation for some tough climbs. A two stop strategy, firstly at the compact Picnic Basket on the main road through Chapel for lunch and then at the Market Place in Longnor allowed us to rehydrate and refuel for the final stint back to Macc.
