Saturday Club Run to Bagnall

Half decent weather meant that on yesterday's Saturday club run we could test our climbing legs.

Mick, Andy, Russel, Christian, Ant and Fred headed up to Cluelo Cross and having stuck to the plan this week found Woody at the Top of Barlow Hill.

After wizzing down to Danebridge we climbed and regrouped at the top of the Gun where we had a fine and clear view down to Shropshire. It wasn't so fine  later at Bagnall, good timing though as the only spots of rain were while we were all nice and cosy in the cafe ( that open fire works really well).

It didn't matter that it had clouded over on the way back as it was lighting up time anyway and probably more of a tailwind. The final climb was up onto Lask Edge which was notable not just because it went on a bit but strangely there was a bit of a traffic jam behind a police car. With the climbing job done its was a quick blast down cloudside and back through North Rode and Gawsworth.

Four out of the seven of us were all tucked up in the Ship Inn by about 5.20 which is even more cozy than Jacksons tea rooms as they have twice as many open fires. The only downside of the ride was we missed two good photo opportunities, one at the top of the Gun with the Wrekin popping up over the horizon as a backdrop and the other with Santa at the cafe, so you'll just have to take my word for it that it was a excellent afternoon.
