Role profile - Road race Secretary
Outline Description
The role of the Road Race Secretary is to promote road and criterium racing within the club, using all the available club communication channels.
The Road Race Secretary will be the first point of contact within the club for road racing matters, providing advice and guidance to members interested in road racing and representing the club across the road racing community and into all road racing bodies the club is affiliated to.
The Road Race Secretary will be aware of racing members’ results and progress during the year, co-ordinating team activity where possible.
Responsibilities
Ensure club affiliations are registered (British Cycling and TLI Cycling).
Keep abreast of race opportunities, through the British Cycling, TLI Cycling and LVRC race calendars.
Promote racing to club members and support them to access the opportunities.
Keep track of members’ racing achievements.
Co-ordinate annual trophy claims for all road race trophies
Promote club road race activities and to support race organisers, assisting however necessary.
Attend committee meetings regularly and contribute to the development and progression of all club activities.
Ensure relevant racing pages of the club website are updated and remain relevant.
Experience/Skills
Preferred experience of participation in road racing and connections across the road racing community.
