Easy riding into autumn
Our Sunday easy rides have continued throughout September and October, except for when we have been helping with other club events.
The number of riders out varies, depending upon the weather, but enough to need two groups on the road. John usually leads the slightly faster group, whilst I lead a slightly slower group, often with a few short cuts. We have been alternating the start point between Wilmslow and Macclesfield, and have spread our custom across a range of cafes and organisations. September and October destinations have included Treetops garden centre, High Legh village hall, Great Budworth church hall, Shipbrook farm at Davenham, Dunham Barn, Glebe Farm and Snowdrop cafe at Grasslands.
The last Thursday ride of the summer sequence was on 1st September, when 14 of us headed up to the Wizard tearoom, but we have had a couple of pop-up Thursday rides since then to Plumley and Ollerton. These will continue to pop up when the forecast is good! They are usually added to the calendar on Tuesdays.
Everyone is welcome on the easy rides, we go at the pace of the slowest rider in the group, generally this means an average speed of 11 or 12 mphish for the slower group and 14 mphish for the faster group, but it depends upon who is out, wind direction, and distance!
