Cheers in Chester
11 of us made the most of the warm October weather on an easy ride to Chester.
10 of us departed Shakeley Mere, we had a tail wind on the way out so made good time to Cotebrook. The sun came out so we sat outside for our morning refuel.
Arriving into Chester we encountered a navigational challenge in the form of the Chester marathon and 5000 runners as well as spectators on our usual route down to the river. Some of the group found an alternative route through the park whilst others navigated a route through the spectators down to the riverside. There was a lot of loud cheering but I don't think it was for us!
Simon R caught up with us there, having set off late from Macclesfield. He was meeting his daughter so we left him there as we set off back along the canal. We arrived at Whitegate cafe at 2.30pm, well ahead of the autumn closing time of 3pm, so stopped there for our final refuel. Simon R was only a few minutes behind us so joined us there.
Well done to Simon (Troy) on his longest ride so far!
