Boxing Day Easy Ride to Styal Mill

16 of us were out on a surprisingly bright Boxing Day ride to Styal Mill.

John led the ride from Broken Cross, and Martin and I met up with them at Chelford Island. Martin took over the navigation from there since John's Garmin was misbehaving. The route included an occasional stretch of muddy track, a few cobbles, and plenty of pot holes, so our bike handling skills were fully tested. Styal Mill had changed their access arrangements since last year and it took us several attempts to find a way in without steps. The cafe was rammed, like most Boxing Days, but we found enough tables and chairs. I think that we might have to find another, less busy destination for Boxing Day 2019. Today's other riders were Pat, Sue, Gwen, Adele, Kirsten, Bennett, Brian E, Simon G, Simon R, Phil B, Mark H, Jim, and Brian E. Our next easy ride will be from Wilmslow on New Year's Day.
