Sunday Easy Ride to Plumley

It was a chilly but enjoyable easy ride to Plumley garden centre today.

We split into two groups at Siddington, with the slower group led by me setting off a few minutes behind the faster group led by John. Something went a little awry because we caught them again a couple of miles down the road! It could have been the group of horses they had to navigate around, or maybe the 200km Audax which John did yesterday.

We managed to split again and the faster group stayed just out of sight until the cafe. We were joined at the cafe by Eddie and Dave R who had each ridden out separately.

Simon G managed to negotiate breakfast barms and toast options with the kitchen ( we arrived just after breakfast service had finished). The service was fast, food was excellent and cafe warm with wood burners going. We rode back in two groups, with the slower group arriving back at Siddington just after 2pm, average speed 12.1mph. It stayed dry, and we even saw some sun as we finished!

Riding today were Lucia, Gwen, Alicia, Simon R, Simon G, Phil B, Jim, Griff, Dan, Richard, Gawsworth John, Steve, Vinnie as well as John and myself.
