Just a Ride
The weather was sunny so the consensus was to head into the hills.
The four of us (Alison, Ewan, Nigel and myself) took a route out through Gurnett and onwards up to now defunct Hanging Gate. From there it is was up left past the Greenway Cross (apparently a middle ages way marker to Dieulacres Abbey in Leek) and down into Wildboarclough. We then headed across to Lamaload where we had the good fortune to spot a curlew taking off and heading into the setting sun.
A brief stop to read the memorial to John Turner on Erwin Lane then down to Bollington via Blaze Hill, from there it was Kerridge Ridge and Coalpit Lane to Langley.
At the bar of the Park Tavern for refreshments at around 8.40, having completed about 22 miles and 2100 feet of climbing.
A great social ride, see you soon.
