Larkling: Hartington

Four Larklings set out from South Park for a hilly ride to Hartington, Phil, Richard, Stuart and Jim, later to be joined by Rob just at the start of the climbing.

The weather was dry but as we climbed the mist closed in depriving us of the fantastic views, thickening to fog as we neared the top, so it was lucky everyone knew where they were going. Dropping down into Hartington the fog cleared and we had a fast descent to the Hartington Farm Shop and Café arriving in time for breakfast.

Suitably refreshed, we set off for the return trip, Simon had added a little twist to the normal route which involved a detour past Parsley Hay, questions were asked and given my track record I wasn’t surprised, but we stuck to the route and finally arrived at the Cat and Fiddle with the same number of riders we started with :)

A great ride and interesting viewing it from a different perspective.
