New Year's Day ride around Pym Chair and the Goyt Valley

A fine first ride of the New Year with a good mix of steep climbs, scenic views and swooping descents.

Four of us (Rob, Phil, Chris and Raph) opted for a hilly New Year's Day ride.  Ominous noises from Raph's rear wheel on the first climb of the day prompted a diversion to Rainow for a bike swap and a diversion from the intended route.  However a broken tarmac ride on Kiskhill Lane and a climb from Jenkin Chapel to Pym Chair soon got us back on track.  The ride up the Goyt valley from Errwood took us into the clag on the high point of the day at Axe Edge before a fast descent to Allgreave and Sutton via the A54 and Hollins Lane.  Thanks to Phil for the photos.
