Saturday Afternoon Outing To Wheelock

We were lucky last saturday afternoon that the rain had stopped by twelve for the club run.

The blustery wind from the west hadn’t stopped though and was quite noticeable on the way to our cafe stop at Wheelock Hall, but hey ho that meant an easy ride after half time. It was the first one for a while that we got back in good daylight, peeps went their  different way’s home from the Pexhill, Dark lane turn but the three of us that stuck to the 41 mile route back to the KH were bang on the advertised schedule parking up at exactly 4pm.

It was 50/50 ladies/gents on the way out: Rachel, Liz, Jo / Kevin, Griff, Fred until Dave joined us at the cafe slightly altering the balance. The mix was good in all respects for a relaxed and social ride, newer member’s, older member’s etc etc. Despite the very messy roads there were no punctures, the only minor incident to report was when someone tried to ride into the loo’s when leaving the cafe then ended up on the deck😳, no names mentioned 🤫but I’am sure they’ve moved that exit passage since last time I was there.

So next week it’s the saturday social (finishing with plenty of time to scrub up for the club’s party and award’s night 🎉🥂🏆💃🕺 get your tickets quick), then it’s 12pm at south park again on the 28th, see you then.
