Wednesday Club Run to Dimmingsdale

Great cycling weather for our 61-mile trip to the famous Ramblers Retreat.

Eager to endorse this unusual establishment’s separate vegan menu, I eschewed my default 61- mile sustenance of choice - baked beans sur le toast, also my 51-mile sustenance of choice, also my 41-mile sust [that’s enough baked bean jokes - Ed] - and opted for a very tasty toasted vegan cheese sandwich with tomato chutney, served with salad garnish and crisps, washed down with pot of tea with soya milk.

My companions and I were enthusiastic applauders of the acoustic guitarist who accompanied our repast, Jeff Eardley, who sent us a nice email later after spotting us pedaling up Basford Bridge Lane in Cheddleton. Hope they gave him some lunch too.

My average speed - 11.4 mph. Home at 16.40. Great day out.
