Easier Training Ride @ 10-2-7 on 5th December

Nine of us headed down Pexhill into a blustery wind at 10-2-7.

It was pretty hard work all the way out to the turn at Byley by which time Dave had peeled off. We were then rewarded with a wind assisted dash all the way up to beyond Seven Sisters but by Marthall the fun was over and it was a case of digging in for the last few miles. At least Congleton Lane wasn’t flooded this week and there is some shelter between high hedges but it was a exceptionally sh1ty mudbath.

Most importantly we all got back to Siddington together, not officially so important is smashing it up Pexhill if you’ve got anything left and since they made a great effort the credits go to: Mark W 🥇 first over the line at Broken X then a gap to Christian🥈 with Fozzy🥉 hard on his wheel.

Bennett started the ride strongly but faded a bit on Pexhill (lessons to be learned), Ant was out on the ride for the first time this winter and did well to keep on up Pexhill, yours truly Fred W, Andy and Mark B were the stragglers.

Mark who also hasn’t been out since the summer hung on the back a lot of the ride, that’s fine , that’s sensible, we knew where he was and what he was doing and in part that's what the ride is for. Last night was a bit slower than last week but it did what is says on the can, 16 to 20 mph, suitable for those new to training rides or coming back and everyone helping each other out.

See you all next week.
