Easier Training Ride @ 10-2-7 0n 3rd oct

A smaller but select bunch headed down Pexhill last night.

Mr Duck made his first appearance for a while correctly anticipating a reduced turnout and rightly guessing his considerable strength would be welcome and it certainly was. Rich, Dave and Fozzy, all experienced vetrans of winter training rides plus Jim our newest recruit all rode sensibly but as hard as they could on a tough night.

It had been a bit wet and breezy all the way from the off but when we got to Warford Storm Lorenzo seemed to hit us full on. By that time it wasn’t exactly a chain gang more a matter of trying to battle your way to the front if you possibly could and for yours truly Fred W by Welsh Row just not going backwards.

No doubt there’ll be plenty more hard Thursday nights before next spring but if we keep going at it we will be stronger for it and enjoy the fine conditions even more next year.
