Lark Ride to Betley 8 Dec 2018

The lights were shining through the windows early doors at Wheelers HQ for a pre-dawn meet and talk as the club’s in-house meteorologists and cartographers touched base offline to rule that it was too windy to head up country to Eyam today.

So we picked the low-hanging fruit, hung low but didn’t see Gordon, and did a flat ride to Betley instead: 55 miles at an average speed of 14.8 mph although, as it turned out, Mow Lane wasn’t actually flat.

I hope the Risk Assessment Team will allow us to do the Eyam ride next week.

I expect to move kick-off back to 10.00 am after Christmas assuming that the weather is colder then, but this is a democratic team and I shall take soundings, and bungs, from all interested parties.
