Meet the Member - Bartosz

Originally from Poland, Bartosz is a relatively new member but has been a welcome, committed regular and a pleasure to ride with. He has done many club rides including JAR (Just A Ride), the Sunday Training Ride and Thursday’s Steady Training Ride. On the latter, he is usually seen on the front, setting the pace up Pexhill Road as we approach the end of the ride.

Q. What was your first proper bike?

A BMX, but more recently a hybrid Claud Butler and then a Cube Attain road bike which I still use.

Q. How long have you been a Macc  Wheeler?

I joined in April 2021

Q. Tell us about your favourite local ride or climb and why?

I like to do a few in one go: Brickworks, Windgather and the Goyt Valley. It’s reasonably long and the views get better and better. The Goyt is really nice in the summer as it’s like an oasis of green.

Q. What are your cycling goals for 2022?

Improve strength and speed.

Q. What does cycling mean to you?

A healthy way to exercise and be in nature.

Q. Do you have any top tips for other cyclists?

Just ride and do not avoid hills.

Talking of hills, Bartosz had a go at a few in the Hillclimb Series last year and didn’t disgrace himself by any means. With more experience - and looking at those strength and speed goals - expect him to go even better next time round.

We look forward to seeing Bartosz out and about in 2022.
