Sunday (not so) Easy Ride to Bollington / Rainow

Some hilly miles completed on two not so easy rides today.

John led a 10.00am group of 9 from Broken Cross on a scenic ride over Bosley Cloud and Bosley Minn. The roads were a little slippy after some overnight rain, and Chris was the first man down, with some damage sustained to his shorts. He decided to retreat back to Macc, and Snowy accompanied him. Next man down was Michael C, who tried taking John's front wheel with him, John stayed upright but Michael grazed his knee, and also retreated back to Macc. That left just 6 making it to the cafe, namely John, Jack, Griff, Rebecca, Adele and Caroline, tackling her first hilly cycle ride very successfully.

They arrived some time after my group had departed, Damian, Sarah and I had set off from Wilmslow and come across Gawsworth John in Mottram St Andrew. He had been the only starter at 10.30am from Broken Cross, so joined us. He was trying out his new E bike which delivered well on the hills around Bollington. We only took a couple of short cuts so completed 26 miles at an average speed of 11mph, which was good given the amount of climbing!
