Bank Holiday Easy Ride to Treetops
It was a good turnout of 18 for today's ride.
A group of six from Broken Cross were first to the cafe. I led a group of seven from Wilmslow, including Pauline, back for her second club ride, and Snowy with his daughter, doing her first club ride on a bike, rather than a tandem. She did brilliantly and had no problems keeping up with the group. I did my usual short cuts trick, so we made it to Treetops a few minutes ahead of John's group of five.
Treetops were offering a slightly reduced menu, but still had a good selection of breakfast baps, cakes etc, and we were not in a rush. There is a reptile rescue centre based there, and some of us had the opportunity to meet a couple of tortoises being taken for their daily exercise. Snowy's daughter also fed the chickens kept there.
The Wilmslow group rode back together, and most of us opted for a second cafe stop at the Great Red Bus Tearoom. They had run out of scones, so we had to eat cake. Another dry day and lots of chatting!
