Dallying in Davenham

Another week, another big puddle!

It did stay dry for today's easy ride, but there was a chilly and rather strong wind. 5 of us set off from Wilmslow , and 2 from Broken Cross, whilst Paul R made his own way to Shipbrook aka Riverside Organics. I made the most of sheltering behind Simon R’s back wheel on the way out, and just about kept up with the 13.5mph average speed over 17 miles into the head wind.

The cafe have added some sturdily built timber uprights and roof to the courtyard, which provided some good shelter. The food was excellent, as usual, and we exchanged some banter on slankets ( as demonstrated by Simon G), audaxes and vintage cycle clothing.

I decided to enjoy the tail wind back at my own pace, so took the shorter route via Marthall, whilst John led most of the others on a longer route around Knutsford, and through another giant puddle.
