Sunday Easy Ride to Woodside golf club

There were 12 of us out on today's easy ride from Macclesfield.

At Siddington we split into 2 groups, I led Gawsworth John and Kirsten on a slightly shorter and slower ride out via Goostrey. John led Rachel, Simon G, Phil B, Jim, Griff and Mark H on the advertised route. The other Philip B was also with them for the first section but was recovering from a cold so opted for a short ride to the cafe in Goostrey. My group made it to the cafe a few minutes ahead of the rest, and we were just putting in our orders as they steamed in. The lady behind the counter misheard our reference to Gawsworth John, and thought we had said Gorgeous John, so he now has a new nickname! We had a table of 12 reserved, which turned out to be just right, as Snowy and his daughter arrived on tandem shortly after us. The cafe was very busy, but they kindly agreed to do breakfast options as well as lunch options. The food came out in batches, and we had time for a good chat. We enjoyed some lovely sunshine on our route back and the first signs of spring, with snowdrops, crocuses and daffodils on the verges.
