Taking it Easy at Tatton
It was hot, hot, hot for our Sunday easy ride to Tatton Park.
10 of us set off from Wilmslow at the special heat alert early start time of 9.30am. We took the Ashley route to the Rostherne entrance, enjoying the tree shade on the way into the cafe. It was fairly quiet and there were new parasols providing some shade, unfortunately all the working ones had already been claimed. Francis joined us there, along with his local cycling friend. There were wasps again, the Tatton breed go after your food in groups of 6 or 7 so we had to stay on high alert.
Our route back took us out of the Knutsford entrance, then through the back streets to Booths Hall island, Marthall Cross roads, and past the David Lewis centre. At that point we split into two groups, one heading back to Wilmslow, and the other led by Tim heading for cream teas in Over Alderley (raising money for a good cause). We were back in Wilmslow by 12, more than ready to get out of the sun!
Thanks to Michelle for the excellent selfie style photo, and to Snowy, Simon and others for making sure we successfully navigated our way out of Knutsford..
