Saturday 1pm Monyash Ride
With many of the Saturday 1 pm riders enjoying the sun in Denia, Spain we had a small select group out.
5 riders ( Simon, Dave H, Eddie, Woody and Andy B) rode out into the hills of the Peak District via Allgreave, Gradbach, the Winking Man, Warslow and Hartington to Monyash.
The weather was perfect for one of our first ventures into the hills this year with wall to wall sunshine and a slight breeze, unlike the foot of snow we had this time last year - thanks to the Beast from the East. We made good progress to Long Dale just outside Hartington and then had a puncture stop.
One we got underway we made quick progress to our cafe in Monyash. However the queue for the cafe snaked outside to the tables and we realised we would not be served for a while due to the motor bikers. We made a decision to head on to the Brier Low Bar Bookshop and even though the cafe was busy we were promptly served.
We then rode out back to Macclesfield via Harpur Hill (where I dropped off for my return in Buxton) and the others headed over to the Cat n Fiddle climb.
