I Christopher Robert Bananaboat Cottom, being of sound mind if not body, do hereby declare my intention to ride Les Trois Loops, or two if the weather and/or fatigue means that no one else keeps me company or if I remain debilitated by the cold that sadly excused me from the Macclesfield Wheelers Monday Night training ride, Slow Department (off the back of the) and that also means that the British insurance industry is having to struggle on without me today.
Signed X Chris Cottom, his mark

I Claire Jayne with wobbly bits Logan do declare that I intend to ride one loop. Him in doors (Wayne) is also intending to ride - however if I can get him out of his pit and make it up to Macc for 9am – I’ll wash my bike! Signed

i, huw alecstilleyedye melliar-smith do solemnly declare that, had the date fallen outwith the day known as mothering sunday, i would have done, as bananaboat cottom, two loops or three. 'tis as a result of the seed of my loin being unable to organise appropriate celebrations of said day, that i am unable to fulfill such early assembly.
i therefore petition the wise elders of counsel to consult the gregorian calendar, lest another event of public celebration be found to be in opposition (as t'was the case on the feast of st. valentine), causing consternation and internal strife in the abodes of the membership.
i can but seek solace in the knowledge that my esteemed clubmates will honour the event in my absence, and in the fact that the grand prix of bahrain shall be broadcast on bbc1 that day.

The other names attributed to this festival includes Simnel Sunday, Refreshment Sunday and Rose Sunday. Therefore, you must seek refreshments at the Flavours Cafe, Tiverton. This Sunday was also once known as "the Sunday of the Five Loaves", from the traditional Gospel reading for the day. You can witness Mr Galgut consuming the Five loaves with his full breakfast at the Flavours Cafe, Tiverton. Mothers day is not fixed by the Gregorian calender but the variable festival of Easter and is celebrated on the 4th Sunday in Lent. Next year Mothers day is 3 April. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mothering_Sunday

Big thank you to Elaine and John for letting us use their house for signing on and finish. The cakes at the end were most welcome. A great day out, good cafe, good weather and good company. The 200km group had most punctures 3 between 4 riders. Ralph Walker raced to the Cafe from Wilmslow to find the 2/3 loop group just setting off for the 2nd loop. Ralph decided to miss his brew and join the group for the Frodsham loop before heading back to Wilmslow (1 1/2 loops?)
