Six Wheelers started (and finished) the Buxton Mountain Time Trial on Good Friday. Conditions were cool, windy and damp, making one of the hardest time trials in the country even harder. Results are here: https://www.velouk.net/2017/04/16/resul ... series-tt/
Easter Saturday saw another successful promotion by Mike and Emma Stretch with the Open 25 on J2/9 attracting a full field with five reserves. Conditions were dry but, again, cool and windy. Will Kershaw more than made up for his late start last year by coming ninth with a fantastic 56.54 and Matt Yardley broke the hour for the first time with 59.34 (no small achievement on that course) Results are here: https://www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/ra ... 784#anchor
Without the races promoted by traditional clubs like the Wheelers, there would be no events for members to ride, so many thanks to the Wheelers who gave up their Saturday afternoon to help out at the 25. If you haven't been able to help out at an event so far this year, there are still two road races (on elf which is the TLI National Championships) and, of course, the Club 10 series which will need marshall and helpers.
