RTTC Rudy Project Rd 3 Vets Actual (Nottingham Clarion)

Time Trial Series
Event 3 21st April 2007

EVENT REPORT by David Taylor

Junior 25-mile and circuit champion Alex Dowsett (100% ME) repeated his round one success to ride off with the third leg of the RTTC-Rudy Project Time Trial Series at Granby, Nottinghamshire, on Saturday.

The Essex 18- year-old once more showed the way home to senior riders like former champion Richard Prebble (Pinarello RT) and Paul O’Mahoney (Probikekit RT), both victims of the youngster in the first Cambridgshire round in March.

Dowsett turned in a 27mph plus ride to cover the 26.5-mile Nottingham Clarion CC promotion in 58-35 leaving Prebble and O’Mahoney trailing by 2-00 and 2-02 respectively with their 1-00-35 and 1-00-37 rides.

However, O’Mahoney tops the overall tables, the only one of the three to have ridden all three rounds of the eight-round national series.

Riders faced two laps of the 13.29 miles circuit which included the “small-ring” climb of Harby Hill each time, made harder by the head-wind run towards it

In the vets the fastest on Target times was Roger Iddles with a 1:04:50and a plus 15:03 followed by J Woodburn 1:09:31 +14:34
and in third position Roger Wrenn 1:09:01 +10:17,with a top prize of a Rudy Project designer kit bag valved at around £50.Was chuffef about that!!
