NOVA 2UP RESULT

Postby roger j wrenn » Sat Mar 10, 2007 9:19 pm

The offical result is :-
Event won by Alf Hilton/ Steve Hankey Warrington RC   55:42

        5th     Steve Burke/Adam Bailey               57:42
        6th     Chris Edmondson/Adam Pinder        58:71
        8th     Roger Wrenn/Trev Trevena             59:41
        10th   Simon Ward/ Calum O'Conner        1:000:03
        11th   Dave Higham/Andy Bowers             1:00:11
        16th   Eelco Docter/Steve Powel                1:01:38
me and trev had the misfortune to get held up at the temperary lights at Chelford church, first time they changed just as we stopped but then there was a 10 car hold up at the island.
Second time they had just gone off green and we actually stopped with our feet down for 2:30 mins then another hold up up to the island.
Our actual riding time was 56:41 so you could knock another 15 secs of this, for slowing down and getting back up to speed. What a bummer 40 quid prize money gone !!

But all in all it was great that the club had a great turn out of 11 riders
Lets hope it keeps up, looks promising for future team prizes.

Great to see so many riders from the club and as good a day as you could hope for at this time of year.  Pity that the whole event was turned into a lottery by the bright spark in Cheshire County Council who decided to start roadworks at Chelford Church at 1530 on a Saturday afternoon.  Would have been hard to take even if there hadn't already been a change of course because of roadworks!

17  Eelco Docter, Steve Powell  Macclesfield Whs, Macclesfield Whs   01:01:38

Also there was 41 teams that completed the event so the Macc wheelers did well to get all 5 teams within the top twenty. Though i'm not sure whos training rides worked best.

It'll teach me to sit on a piece of Carbon fibre for 25 miles roger.

Depends who you stop at on the Bonifica i saw how roger liked some of those big Black girls, you could be there all day. It was some good interval training that day on the october trip 20mph for 100yds then 10mph for another 100yds past the ladies.
