Chris Quin romps to victory in club10 despite droopy saddle!

Postby mattyardley » Wed May 09, 2018 10:38 pm

In his first time trial in the last two years, Chris clocked 22:11 tonight, just 10 seconds behind Madison Genesis Tour de Yorkshire star Mike Cuming’s time from week 1. Another cracking ride from Olly Smyth who took a huge 58 seconds off his time from the previous week. James Heeds and Bill Renard are also getting faster (as is Neil Barnes, soon to join the club). In fact the only rider going backwards is me! And good to see Paul Fenton back out on the TT bike. Unfortunately, Dariusz Janczewski suffered a puncture and Stretford Wheelers’ Simon Cook broke a few spokes, so we had 2 DNFs in a field of 9.

We had a brilliant turn-out of helpers this week on a coolish and damp night, huge thanks to:

Timekeeper and assistant: Celia Elliott and Sue Rowson
Start timing and pushing off: Roger Wrenn and Greg Rowson
Marshalls: Jo Holden, Eddie Goodwin, Claire Logan, Antony Lear and Phil Kitchman
Signage and signing on: Me

Results as follows:

1 Chris Quin Bioracer 00:22:11
2 Jamie Heeds Macclesfield Wheelers 00:24:21
3 Matt Yardley Macclesfield Wheelers 00:24:25
4 Oliver Smyth Macclesfield Wheelers 00:25:34
5 Paul Fenton Macclesfield Wheelers 00:26:07
6 Neil Barnes 00:26:54
7 Bill Renard Macclesfield Wheelers 00:27:38
8 Simon Cook Stretford Wheelers DNF broken spokes
9 Dariusz Janczewski Macclesfield Wheelers DNF puncture

We’d like at least 15-20 riders taking part in these events so please spread the word.
