Club Handbook

Postby graham » Fri Sep 12, 2014 11:59 am

I have just seen the club handbook online with the updated records

The hill climbs on the Cat and fiddle and Pym's chair are not listed

The record on The Cat and Fiddle as far as I know is 20 mins 44 sec . I know as I set it in 1987 (when I was a stone lighter) I don't think anyone has gone faster in the club
The record on Pym's chair I believe to be held by Jamie Hyde with a 3 mins 51 sec or 3 mins 55 sec also in the late 80's can anyone confirm this ?

Hill Climb record for the Cat & Fiddle has been excluded principally because over the years the start point has varied and no-one has previously queried it or tried to establish which one should be recognised.

As for Pym's Chair, after much research, it is believed Jaime recorded 3mm 46ss.

WOW

We were pretty good in those days, steel bike and toe clips
I remember riding the whole of the cat in the big chain ring ,starting near Arighi's I did have a tailwind that day
it's surprising the times haven't been beaten considering that carbon bikes must be 5 lbs lighter at least
