:director: Wouldn't it be great if more of the members made an effort to support the club !!!!
The girls in the Social committee have work long and hard
to organise your club Dinner and prize presentation.
A great venue,first class meal,
followed by Music from Pink Banana
so come on make the effort support your club, have a good night
and see your club mates with proper clothes on :glasses5:

But my prized club kit is my proper clothes Mr Wardrobemeister. However, the prospect of seeing you in your civvies convinced me to make an early booking and treat Mrs C to yet another night out, now she has calmed down from the excitement of her Spring outing to see Mark Beaumont at Buxton.

I went into the shirt shop place thing at the airport yesterday to see if they had an orange tie. Imagine my consternation when presented with 7 different ones!

I went for the one with nice pink and mauve bits in, I'm going to wear it on any and all nights out as no one will ever know if I've been sick down my front or not.

Wish I had a green shirt and a tangerine blazer to go with my black tie...

Will just have to resort to wearing my 1998 Golden Jubilee royal blue tie with the club motif. Oh, must remember to put other clothes on as well!

Well, the Wheelers certainly know how to party. After the excitements of my first club run, first Three Loops, first training ride, etc, I was now ready for the big one: my first Wheelers Annual Dinner and Prize Presentation.

What a great time: delicious food, a mingle with some of Cheshire’s finest (cyclists), more raffle prizes than you could shake a broken spoke at, and the opportunity to lay bets on how many trips to the car it’d take Steve Jackson to stash away his booty of hard won silverware. And how instructive it was to see how different Wheelers interpret the word ‘smart’.

Special guest, former GB rider Terrie Riley, shared some of the highlights of her illustrious cycling career, with cockroaches in Venezuelan hotels presenting a more formidable challenge than racing against Beryl Burton.

Being a man of small pleasures, I particularly enjoyed the evening’s details, like the trio of balloons in club colours on the tables, each tethered to a cleaner pedal than any of us have seen for a long time.

Thank you to the hard working organisers: Sue, Claire, Alison and Georgina. And a special thank you to them for securing, doubtless at no little expense, the evening's highlight - a Dance Masterclass from the Wheelers’ answer to Strictly Come Dancing, Arlene and Roger.
