The 3 LOOPS CHARITY RIDES
Sunday 13th Sept '09

There is some confusion arising elsewhere on the board re this event.
Just so we are all clear…….

This event is being organised by John and Elaine Perrin (that’s me and SWMBO). We live :@: 20 Princes Way on the Weston. (phone 01625 614830).
The rides start and finish at our house. Free food and drink will be available before you leave and when you get back.
You can do one, two or three loops.

At the start each rider puts a fiver in the hat. (irrespective of number of loops) This money goes to a charity. (Jill Allingham’s ride this year.)

Each rider gets a brevet card and a route sheet.

The club first set up this version of the 3 loops last year as part of our umpteenth birthday celeb’s. It went down well all round and raised a fair bit of dosh. This year I decided to up the ante a bit and advertise it outside the club as an Audax ride. Up to now I have 35 and rising Audax entries which will raise a lot of extra cash.
BUT
Note that the Audax ride is running parallel to, and completely separate from, the Macc Wheelers’ ride. There is no advantage to, or need for, any Macc’ Wheeler to enter the Audax ride. All you have to do is, decide how many loops you want to do, turn up at 20 Princes Way, put you fiver in the hat, get your card and route sheet and off you go.
The 3 Loopers leave at 8am, the 2 Loopers at 8:30am and the 1Loopers (the majority) at 9am

The little spanner to soften the saddle was the first tool to go in the frame bag

I've now built my old commuter into a bit of an audax bike (I might have to grow a beard) so it's now a 531 steel frame with mudguards and brooks. I've put my best wheels on just for this ride too.

Who's not been on their equality and diversity training recently  Some of us think beards are quite stylish, if not particularly aero. 8)

What about the sandals? You'll need sandals - no socks of course.
