Parkinson Road Race 19th August.

Postby petemcg » Sun Jul 22, 2012 10:08 am

It's that time again I'm afraid.

I'm appealing for help with the Parkinson Road Race on the 19th August, which Macclesfield Wheelers is organising.

I need to have the following if you can find some time for me please.

3 signing on staff.
3 lead car drivers.
3 judges.
30 marshals.
1 course sign putter outerer.

I'm using the event to raise money again for the East Cheshire Hospice, at the May race we were able to donate £104 from rider donation and a personal contribution from Anthony Allan.

Cheers

Big thanks for the response!

I still need more marshalls but Jim Ennis has offered to do motorcycle duties so I now have the 3 I needed.

There are 15 marshall positions on the course and many of them need 2 marshalls so you can see it's a big ask of everybody.

Thanks again....get in touch if you can help please!

Can we look forward to the next literary sensation, Jim's version of "The Motorcycle Diaries" ? Che had to ride across South America whereas Jim will describe multiple circuits of Siddington

As I was saying to Mr Bahamontes, aka Chris Cottom, today, I have now recovered from my writers block  . The next literary sensation will be hitting the shelves soon, hopefully without spelling mistakes

Thanks to everyone who helped today. It was pretty grim riding in the rain so it must have been even worse standing around marshalling or riding a motorbike. Neil has captured the atmosphere perfectly. Knew that doing 75 miles on the club run yesterday was probably not the best idea that I've ever had.

he's not capably of riding across South Americas, couldn't plan his route round Siddington,
had to scrounge £10 off Andy marshalling on the A34 cos he was running out of petrol

The results team went for a ride after the event. Martin will email them when he gets back to Cambridge.
