MTB Mid-Week Rides

Postby Birdy 1403 » Thu Jan 24, 2013 9:29 am

6 riders braved the cold, snow and ice last evening, Mark R, Andrew L, Colin L, Jeremy S, Richard D (yes!) and me for an enjoyable ride over the Hollins, through Wildbourclough and Macclesfield Forest.
Calling all those sheltering at home on your turbo trainers, come out and join us. MTB mid-week rides will be at 18.30 each Wednesday, meeting at junction of Byrons & Gunco Lanes until further update. See you there.

Three seems the magic number on this weeks rides, with Mark, Jeremy and myself out. With 99.9% of the snow gone the trails are rideable again (no more walking and pushing) but back to wet and mud. However we rode 20 miles and did 2100 ft climbing up Teggs Nose, Hanging Gate, Wildboarclough, Standing Stone and down single track around Ridgegate Reservoir back into Langley, calling into St Dunstan for a beer or two. These mid-week rides are great fun and more to the point sociable, so give the turbo trainers an evening off and come and join us.
