Club Kit Colour

Postby MattLawton » Fri Oct 10, 2014 9:53 pm

I've asked the question on Facebook so I'll ask it here too. I am interested to know Which shade of orange would members prefer to have as our main club kit colour: Tangerine (as per this website & Giordana kit) or Dark orange/red (as per the most recent kit)?

Yes, the sub-committee will be considering a range of potential suppliers.

I do not want to be involved in meetings/ discussions, but should like to contribute a question: -

What determines the leg length for shorts irrespective of XS, S, M, L, Xl, XXl?

Having bought both Giordana and Champion Systems I have found the M leg length to be unattractively short for my legs! And with age; more than 2 seasons; they shrink further.

Illustrations of the 'pros' in most issues of the 'comic' show them to be wearing a length of short probably at least 2 to 3 inches longer than those I have been supplied with. I have two pairs of Giordana 3/4 bibs and the leg length from one to the other varies by 3-inches!

In our order form there has been no option to specify short, medium, or long leg.

I have no wish to look like Sean Yates ever again!

BTW my Giordana tops; short and long sleeve; have faded badly on the back whilst retaining the original colour on the front; which is nearer to the Champion Systems colour...

For whats right and proper
we’ve launched a campaign,
Tangerines our colour people,
Not gonna die in vain.

Like Paris – Roubaix,
It’s a timeless classic,
Other shades of Orange,
are just flat and flaccid.

No Tangerine,
What dya mean,
We’re the wheelers,
and we wanna be seen

Yes its in fashion,
but’ll soon be spent,
What am I on about,
Fluo –res –cent!

Carbs and protein to make ya lean
Tangerine and green keep you keen

No Tangerine,
What dya mean,
We’re the wheelers,
and we wanna be seen

No Tangerine,
What dya mean,
We’re the wheelers,
and we wanna be……. TANGERINE!!

Come on Pete - get it rehearsed for the club dinner. I suggest a Beastie Boys style or for the punks Sham 69????!!!!!

Interesting question about short length. Years ago, the fashion was for short shorts (just look at some of the old photos from the 1960s and 1970s) but over the years leg length has increased with some of my shorts almost coming down to the knee. Different manufacturers have different lengths and even the same manufacturers have different lengths from season to season. Son' think that there's an easy answer.
