Wednesday Club Ride v. Storm Eleanor

Storm Eleanor did her best to persuade riders against venturing out today at 10.00 a.m. Only two brave souls dared face her reported 100 mph gusts. One of those (AJ) had the brilliant idea of riding the Circuit of the Edge route in an effort to avoid the worst of her winds. Unfortunately at the foot of Woodbrook Rd AJ's back mech disintegrated - Eleanor chortled and belched cold rain in order to increase her influence. Little did she realise that her gusts were behind the one remaining rider on the climbs of Woodbrook and Artists Lane. That one rider completed 48 miles of the course and the judges' decision was Wheelers 1 Eleanor 0.
P.S. Any member thinking of riding up Woodbrook Rd should be aware that the road is closed halfway up due to the collapse of wall reputedly belonging to a certain Senor Cristiano Ronaldo. It seems unlikely that the offending boulders will be removed whilst CR has continued involvement in the Champions League and other matters. The only route option is to turn right into Underwood Rd.
P.P.S. Good luck to the 7 p.m. fast training riders!
