Monday night 10 Dec

Postby Chris C » Mon Dec 10, 2012 7:39 pm

This notice will be too late to do much good. Just ridden past top of Pexhill on my way home to see a sign saying Road Closed. So that means it's very unlikely to be gritted, so I for one am not going out tonight after all. Shame.

It was a flood at the bend prior to the drag up to Pexhill on the outward journey, easily ridden on a (mudguarded) bike.

Shame Cheshire East's Highways Contractors don't have any spades etc. It was signed closed all day yesterday too.

For the record there was a similar sign in Snelson/ Astle Lane, which I dismissed and quite easily rode through a shallow flood!

Just Jim and myself last night, and extra traffic because the M6 was closed! Bit nippy by the end.

I missed the camaradie. Spent an hour on the turbo in the garage instead reading a book at the same time. First time I've used the beast for at least a year, or maybe two. Felt at least as tired as usual after a Monday ride.

Came back up Pexhill last night, signs still up but no flood. Thanks to Rich for dragging me around three ferocious laps of the circuit, all roads fine and free from ice.
