1-0-Clock Saturday Club Run Tries Out A New Cafe in The Hills

We had a excellent 1-0-clock club run last Saturday the 4th June

It could definitely be classed as hilly with well over 4k feet of climbing in about 35 miles depending whose strava you go off, so hard at times but rewarding for that.

Of course it helps when the sun’s out and we were also rewarded with a good cafe stop at Chapel Tea Rooms at Hollinsclough, that’s now on the approved list and one to visit again.

The highlights were down the gated road near three shires into Gradbach, the climb up Gibb Torr, the descent into Longnor and on the the return leg up past Dowall Hall, Parkhust Hill plus not forgetting a final push up to the Cat with a tailer to help (nice ). I suppose that's a lot of highlights in a relatively short one but it really was good.

So the next scheduled Saturday afternoon club run is in two weeks on the 17th June, which may be flatter or hilly again but will be aiming to get back about 5pm and will be for all members. If you can’t wait till then why not post up a ride yourself; your choice, your time, your parameters etc, or if you're going to be doing something with a few club mates anyway why not make it a club ride….it’s not that hard.

In attendance but avoiding the fredcam were: Robert Mills, made a brave effort up Ridge HIll but had to retire not feeling well; Rachel Gilliland, retired to do dog minding duties; Woody, only turned up for the curtain call at the Cat, must have been tired from all that pushing off the night before.
